Korean superstar IU has been generously donating to the frontlines in her country. Just recently, IU donated over 4,600 cooling vests (approximately $84, 410) to the Korean Nurses Association through the Community Chest of Korea, a non-profit organization. The cooling vest can help the nurses tackle the summer heat while wearing their protective gear.
Since the start of the pandemic, IU has already donated a total of $220,000 to 4 Korean organizations that provide masks to low-income families and medical supplies to hospitals working to prevent COVID-19. She really deserves to be called the “national sweetheart” because of her unwavering commitment to help others. This is one of the reasons she is well-loved and respected in her country. In December 2019, IU was named one of Forbes Asia’s “Heroes of Philanthropy” for her charitable work.
