With her beauty, grace and intelligence, Maureen Montagne triumphed over 40 other candidates for the Miss Globe 2021 title during the grand coronation night in Tirana, Albania on November 6, 2021. She is the second Filipina to win the Miss Globe title, following Ann Colis in 2015.
Maureen stood out throughout the competition and paraded with full confidence. She wore a black two-piece bikini for the swimsuit competition while she bloomed in her sampaguita national costume. For the evening gown competition, she sashayed with a form-fitting gold gown and dazzled in every move giving delight to all the viewers around the globe. Aside from winning Miss Globe, Montagne finished first runner-up in three pre-pageant matches: People’s Choice, Miss Bikini, and Head to Head Challenge.
During the Q&A portion, Maureen was asked: “Do you think beauty is a merit? And how can we enrich it with other values?” Her winning answer was: “I think that true beauty comes from within. To be a Miss Globe is to be a beauty that inspires. What makes us beautiful is our smiles, it’s what we do for our community. It’s how we give back to others, and it’s how we carry ourselves through life. I believe that everyone has beauty inside of them, and I believe it is our duty to share it with the world, and to give back, and to truly inspire others.”
Other winners include Nigeria’s Esther Gabriel as first runner up, Turkey’s Melike Bali as second runner up, Venezuela’s Jhosskaren Carrizo Smiler as third runner up, and Canada’s Hailey Hamelin-Wilson as fourth runner up.
Her crowning moment in Miss Globe 2021 will probably be capping her pageant career. She is a seasoned pageant competitor, having competed in Mutya Pilipinas in 2013 and finishing as 1st Runner Up. She won Miss Arizona in 2015 then vied for Miss World America and finished as the first runner-up in 2017. She also competed in Miss World Philippines in 2018, where she was crowned Miss Eco Philippines and placed first runner-up in Miss Eco International.
